Who are Community Cats?

The phrase "Community cat" is an umbrella term that refers to any member of the felis cats species that are unowned, outdoor, and free-roaming. These cats can be friendly, feral, adults, kittens, healthy, sick, altered and/or unaltered. In which they may not have caretakers.

They are also known as "feral " or "stray" and are unlikely to get adopted.

So what's the difference between strays and feral?

Stray cat could be vocal- you could hear the meowing: while feral cats won't meow, beg, or respond. Stray cats are active during the day; while feral are primarily nocturnal. Feral cats specifically refer to those who are not socialized to humans and prefer to avoid contact.

Each day when the sunrises, brings new challenges to the community cat. Not knowing if today is going to be their last or could there be a new member to the colony or could a member of the colony dye of sickness.

These cats live by day by day; not knowing what tomorrow brings.

Community CAts are unpredictable, shy, and lack trust to humans.

Until one day.

A heart shows up to discover the Cat Colony. A heart shows up with a treat and other weird objects never seen before.

In Vincennes, IN: There is a 501 3c Sanctuary that helps with not only helps with sick and abused felines. They also help with community cats. Barbara Grannan Carie Feline Sanctuary. Pat goes out every day to help feed. A relative Bob Wilson helps with the warming shelter in the winter.

Pat does alot of this work by himself with out any volunteers.

They community cats enjoy their meals, shelters, and the attention. Plus, they are seeking volunteers to help Pat out and donations to help them with food, and other supplies.
