Not everyday you ever hear about a Feline Sanctuary in Vincennes . Not everyday your hear about the struggles Felines go through.

Barbara Grannan Carie Feline Sanctuary is in the heart of Vincennes ; ran by Pat and Tricia Carie, brother and sister. This Sanctuary was named after their mother who had cancer and passed away in 1997. In 2016, this Sanctuary became a 501 c3 non profit organization.

Here is what the facility does:

The facility helps Felines with chronic illness, behavior issues, abused, abandoned, and even given second chances. This even includes feral Felines. The support for these types of feline includes: hospice, behavior support, medical care, and nutrition support for special diets.

Otherwise, these feline would be euthanized without this facility support.

Our promise to them is to provide a safe and loving environment for the rest of their lives.

"We have established this feline sanctuary due to the overwhelming response in the assisting of the communities need to help relocate Felines that were abused, losing their habitat, diagnosed with FELV/FIV, and neglected. We also have several feral colonies in town we feed daily."

Barbara Grannan Carie Feline Sanctuary Objective:

Is to provide workshops, learning programs to educate the public about feral and semi-feral cats, and a pet food pantry; No questions asked if you need food for your feline.

On Going Food Drive:

Every day of the week we are always in need of dry (bagged cat food), canned cat food, and clumping cat litter.

Volunteers Needed:

We need volunteers to help with many different jobs; including cleaning litter boxes, sweeping, mopping, feeding, and even giving attention to all the kitties 😻.

Anything you or your group could do to help would be so appreciated. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, due to insurance reasons.

Financial History:

In November of 2020; Sanctuaries primary benefactor unexpectedly passed away. Leaving the Sanctuary without a financial contingency plan. The dream of this Sanctuary was to become the largest In-house forever home in the Midwest.

Plans have changed. We continue to care for those left behind that literally have no other place to go.

"We offer support out in the community for several feral colonies so they can survive another day; such support includes, but not limited to food and shelter. We are there regardless of the weather. Rain, snow, or ice. We were out in the past blizzard and wind for more than 18 hours; trying to make sure all colonies were safe. Some of the cats had to be brought back to to the facility until the weather lessened. Finally, we are not open to the public, due to limited space. Also like to add: we don't accept cat, and don't accept surrender; currently we are not a surrender facility or shelter."
