Vincennes is the capital seat of Knox County. It is also home to Clark Middle School and Lincoln High School. In recent years, Both facilities have gotten upgrades and face lifts. Both schools have shared spaces in the downtown of Vincennes for many years. Clark Middle School for many years was Clark Junior High and was right across the street to Lincoln High School, until 1988. Lincoln moved out to Hart street, in a more modernized facility, whil Clark took over the space that Lincoln once had. Due to cost of living expense, maintance, and other troubles: Vincennes school corporation opted in building a new middle, and closed the facility on 6th street. Until recently both structures were both sold, and this facility as of today is being demolished.
This is a look at what is happening to the downtown.
